"7k more and it'll be a half marathon!"

I always find it a funny week, going back to work after the holidays. I've really, really enjoyed having the freedom of running whenever I wanted, and having the time to recuperate. Due to this, I am now sat, with my thigh muscles crying at me, because I've overdone it! (When will I ever learn!?)  This is how this week has panned out. (& what a long week it feels like it has been!)  Monday - Chorley Runners 10k trail run. I will admit, I usually go out on Easter Sunday for a run, because the streets are just so much more quieter, but knowing there was a 10k trail run booked for Monday, I thought that I better have a rest. (And, for the first time in a while I went into town for a few drinks!) I was very  tired so made sure I rested on Monday ready for the trial run. I got out and I did it. It was lovely! Good weather (a tad cooler), friendly faces and a delightful route, exploring areas that are so close to where I live, but I've never actually been across them....

This week has been a good week for running. The weather has been kind, I've been motivated and, there's been a slight hint of excitement (for me) in the air. I've never really been excited for Easter, but, with a few themed runs this week, it has certainly got me a little bit giddy... Firstly, the second week of half term has helped me to start to get organised in my own life a little bit.. and, my running gear was looking a little bit chaotic all shoved in one box and I'd rifle through to find specifics each run... cue...  You know when you're a runner when.. Organisation central! I've finally got a box for my sock and snoods (I found a huge love for snoods during this season's winter running, something I never really appreciated) and one box for my 'winter gear' - I'm talking hats, and lights. I felt very smug with this, something I never thought I would have in my life and now, I can't believe how far this hobby has gone!  I'd love to ...

Be fiercely, unapologetically you.

Week 1 of Easter half term gone. Honestly, where does the time go? This half term I haven't really made any plans, more of a.. go with the flow style and... it's been good for me! It has helped me to take time for me, and do what I want to do. Rather than chase my tail trying to please everyone. I'm trying my best to be, unapologetically me. Cuerden Valley Coffee stop with Teddy Bear (Weds), & Valley Coffee flat white (Thurs) But what has that meant for running? Throughout the week, I won't lie. I found it tough to find the motivation to get out and do. I was all geared up for a Thursday night Chorley Runners 7k... But when the rain hit, that went out of the window. Which left me in dangerous running purgatory for the weekend..  Throughout this week I have finally finished my Bryony Gordon " Eat, Drink, Run " book.  I've really enjoyed this book, after going to be a spectator at the marathon last week, dealing with my own mental health issues, (If this...

We can be heroes, just for one day.

Hello dear readers, I apologise for the lateness in the one, but bare with me - it is half term, and suffice to say stopping has made me absolutely hit the deck! - Brace yourself, it's a long one!  Parkrun number 40! Yes, Saturday saw me reach the glorious 40! Which I can't quite believe myself, it seems only yesterday I was getting giddy for my 25 t-shirt. But, here we are, 10 away from the almighty 50.  I was in much better spirits this morning, I was absolutely broken on Friday night and put myself to bed super early. Sometimes, the end of term does this to you, and, I'll be honest I was not ready for my alarm on Saturday morning. Nothing a hot cross bun and half a pint of water can't solve though! The weather was much different to last week, but, I was grateful that it was dry. It was pacer week, unfortunately no 31 pacer, so I just had to do whatever my body wanted to on the day. I was super early again, to the park - its getting a bit of a habit now. But I enjoy t...
