Milestone Klaxon alert!

This week was a week I have been counting down till for the past goodness knows how many weeks.
It was finally here. My 50th Parkrun. Now unless you've been living under a rock / new to this blog / not spoke to me in a while, I have not shut up about reaching this milestone for a very long time.

For some reason 25 did not fill me with as much satisfaction as I thought it would, so operation 50 was a go. It didn't seem too far away, and so the obsession took over.
Its quite crazy to think that I have done Parkrun every week since January and we were finally at the climax of this mission.

I think it helps that I have fallen in love with running, more than I ever have, and I have a great support network around me, which was proved to me Saturday morning with all the absolute legends that came to celebrate on the park with me.

I'm not going to go on too much, because I was run report writer for Preston this week where you can read about most of it here.

But I do need to give the biggest thank you to all my little lovelies that dragged themselves out of bed to come and celebrate with me. I have to say, I think we had quite the celebration Saturday morning.

Here goes the roll call: Jess, Sophie, James, Paul, Julie, Gill, Ginny, Aimie, Nick (😉), Mike, Julia, Kally, Rachael, Tina, Carole, Douglas, Christopher, Adam & Mark.

And here are my most favourite snaps from the morning!

And my new favourite photo ever....

Sophie ran with me this week, something that we've never properly done together unless we had the dog in tow. She paced me round because she knew how much I wanted to be in the 30s for my 50th. We did it, in style at 30.59!! But all the same, in the 30s. We ran strong, and this photo just sums up our friendship 💕 I'm so so grateful that this moment was captured!

I was also grateful for Rachael capturing this of us finishing together!

So there we go. operation 50 complete. T-shirt ordered.
Here goes operation 100...

When I got home. I was exhausted and very very excited for the results to come through. However, there was something waiting on the mat for me which hit me with a thud.

My official Macmillan T shirt for the Great North Run had arrived. It reminded me what all this is for. These silly little challenges I keep setting myself such as 50 Parkruns is all training to raise money for Macmillan.
It was 3 months this weekend till the big race, which really, really scares me, but I am also so, so excited!

Macmillan do amazing things for people with cancer and this is only a fraction of what I could do to raise awareness for their amazing work, especially with them working closely with my friend, and supporting her through a really shit time. (Sorry, there's no other way to describe it).
No-one should face cancer alone.

If you would like to sponsor me on this crazy challenge, you can do so on my Just Giving page, here.

£405 raised can help the Macmillan community forum run for one day. During this time 1586 people affected by cancer share emotional & practical support.*
